A new bloginning ...

What do you get if you cross this ...

With this ...

Well, this for a start ...

But aside from a child who non-crafters would consider to be worryingly interested in yarn, not much crafty has gone on in my life for the past year.

Actually, that's not true. I've been thinking a lot about knitting, and crochet, and sewing, and embroidery, and storing up a long list of projects that will get done once I have the time. My Ravelry queue is full, my google reader starred folder is massive, and my new years resolutions all seem to be fabric or yarn related.

They say having a child changes your life, and I can certainly attest to that now. My small person is the best thing in my world - frustrating, hilarious, incredibly hard work, and just such fun to be around. But more than that, he has really changed my view on life. I feel much more motivated, with a determination to make the most of every little thing, and I have a (perhaps false) sense of organisation. With that in mind, I would like to post some rather late New Year's resolutions in this blog.

  • This year will be a stash busting year, as small people cost the earth plus there is so little time for fabric shopping.
  • I will try new crafts that I have only wondered at before, and more importantly, make them my own.
  • I will finish, and finish, and finish. New things will only be started upon completion of an existing UFO.
OK, this last one may conflict with the previous two posts, and I am reminded of my father's pledge to only buy new books upon disposal of one he already owns - a likely story!
  • I will blog ... but not here. Find my new blog at http://craftingtogether.wordpress.com
